When I requested Woman of Strength and Purpose, I questioned myself because I didn't see myself as strong willed because I often think of the defiant, temper tantrum having person as strong willed, but I quickly recognized myself in some of the strong-willed woman scenarios.  I now recognized that being strong willed is more than being defiant, but there are positive characteristics to being a strong willed woman.

Cynthia Ulrich Tobias introduces Woman of Strength and Purpose by defining strong willed.  She reminds us that being strong willed isn't the negative traits and being strong willed is a positive trait when it is used in the right way and has not gone sideways.  There is a quiz to help the reader determine if she is considered strong willed or not.  The quiz is also expected to be completed by a close friend or family member to give the reader an outside perspective.  My husband completed the quiz in regards to me, and it decided that I am a midrange strong willed woman.

There are 11 chapters that dive into living a faith-filled life, understanding self-sufficiency, defining our purpose, and leading with integrity.  While some chapters focus on self others focus on relationships with others such as relationships with our mates, children, and mentees.  Each chapter ends with a true story of perseverance from a strong willed women.

Woman of Strength and Purpos is a quick read for any woman who is interested in learning more about tempering her strong will if it has gone side ways or who needs encouragement to continue using her strong will to make the world around her better.
