Recap: Mandisa Concert

A few weekends ago there was grand opening at our church. And to top off the grand opening,

Mandisa performed at each of the services. It was a privilege to hear and see her perform live.

Of course, anytime you get to hear an artist live it is an experience, but to hear an artist share their testimony is something else totally.

We saw her perform twice.  Once so that I would be able to attend, and the other time I watched on the church's television because it was my Sunday to serve.

Mandisa's presence blessed our family and so many ways.  The first time I heard "Dear John"  I was impacted.  I didn't realize my girls had been impacted too.  "Dear John" is a song of hope for those that are praying for a friend or family member to accept Christ.  I am not sure if Mandisa realize that this song will also help those that have accepted Christ, but aren't living His gift.

The girls and Vic watched the performance on Sunday. After church, we  picked up her latest CD Overcomer and we listened in the car. And when we entered our house, we listened on Spotify.  So can I say we know nearly all the words to this album.

During all this listening, our youngest daughter had really been impacted.  Yesterday as we were returning home, she began a conversation with God out of nowhere.  She began this talk by quoting John 3:16 {I didn't know if she knew it for sure because she would never say for me so imagine my surprise when she said aloud}.  She followed scripture by prayer which went a little something like this, " God, I know Jesus is your son.  I know He died because we are sinful.  We are selfish and You love us"  She followed this up by saying to Him," God I can't wait for You to come down and maybe You will have a tea party with me."  This was enough to melt my heart, but what followed brought me to tears.  She said, "I have another prayer."  " God everyone should have a piece of You.  We should all want You in our hearts, but there is one person that does not have You, and that person is Mandisa's brother" from there she went on to ask God to place this desire in his heart.  You know there is power in prayer, and to hear our six year speak such words with a knowing touched my heart.

I know it is only Tuesday, but how have you been inspired this week?
