The Parthenon in Nashville {and FREE Field Trip Reflections Printable}

We tend to go on several field trips throughout the year, and what I have learned that the girls do not always remember things from each outing. I know this is normal because I don't know anyone who remembers everything they learned in a visit to a place. For this visit, I decided I would help them retain a bit of information by having them bring a Field Trip Reflection page which I created. Upon arriving at the Parthenon, I had them write down a few questions about what they wanted to learn on this field trip. The main question was "What is the Parthenon?"

Did you know that there is a print shop that does not utilize any technology? When I say no technology, I mean absolutely no technology. They do not even allow potential customers to contact them via email. All work is done through verbal interaction. All proofs are created by hand.

Out & About :: Gaylord Opryland ICE!

During the holiday season, the girls and I experienced ICE! at Gaylord Opryland for the first time. Since this was our first encounter with the ice sculpture exhibit, I truly did not know what to expect.

READ: WE WERE NOT PREPARED.

When I read the description of the event online, my mind only focused on the Nutcracker part of the title. In my mind, I had us prepared to see a theatrical performance or something. ICE! Nutcracker was not that at all.

Out & About:: Made South Market

The girls and I enjoyed a different type of field trip last week. We had the opportunity to visit the Made South Holiday Market thanks to Vanessa at Daily Delivered and Made South for the free tickets.

Made South provides a venue for southern artists. We met artists from Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina. This event has happened twice in Franklin. This was the events first time being held at The Factory in Franklin, TN.

Out & About :: Stones River National Battlefield

We toured Stones River Battlefield. The tour included a brief presentation. The young tourists were also given an activity book to complete while visiting the site. Upon completing six activities, the children were sworn in as Junior Park Rangers and given a badge. If they completed ten activities, they were also given a patch.

Out & About :: Panera's Bakers in Training Program

The Bakers in Training program takes young people (& parents) behind the scenes of Panera. The girls were given (there's a participation fee) an apron and baker's hat for participating in the program. A part of the participation fee goes to the No Kid Hungry campaign which is fighting to end child hunger.
