On Our Bookshelf: Brave Girls Beautiful You REVIEW

The Brave Girls brand has released another devotional for girls.  This is our second devotional from Brave Girls.  We have found that the short devotionals are great way to begin our morning, and it also offers a nice introduction to our prayers and bible study.  The new devotional focuses on building the understanding of inner beauty.  In this day and time, building the heart and mind is definitely high on our list of parenting priorities.

Brave Girls Beautiful You is a 90 day devotional geared towards girls between the ages of 8-12.  The devotional is divided into six sections: Beauty Basics, Radiant Reflections, Works of Beauty, Beautifully Clothed, Kingdom Fitness, and Creative Beauty. Each section is told from the perspective from Gracie, Hope, or Glory.

Do you know how beautiful you are?

Beauty Basics teaches that beauty is all around us, and through the Messiah we can better see the gifts we have been given. Radiant Reflections emphasizes the fact that we all are loved no matter what we look like physically, and reminds us to see ourselves as the Father sees us. Works of Beauty shares creative ways that we can share the beautiful gifts which we have been given with the world. Beautifully Clothed guides girls to changing their attitudes for the positive and getting rid of the things that are not good.  Kingdom Fitness is a fun section with activities to help solidify the Truth; this sections helps to magnify the areas which need to be nurtured more. Creative Beauty reminds us to see His creativity in nature.

Brave Girls Beautiful You is a devotional that my girls and I enjoy reading together daily.  I appreciate the conversations that are sparked after reading it together.  It has been a nice addition to our daily routine.
